We are currently gearing up to bring you our line of home crafted fermented hot sauces. Our signature sauce "The Original" crafted with love and the hand picked ingredients, is a fresh flavor explosion you won't forget.

We will be selling direct to you here or at local farmers and craft markets in the Surrey & West Sussex Area

Come with us as we expand our range of fiery super hot sauces, and take you on a journey with our range of tangy kimchi, sweet-spicy chili jams and hot honey, and get ready to level up your mealtime flavours.

It all started with Pickled Eggs 🥚

Fed up with paying the price of shop bought Pickled Eggs, and our daughter's declaring they were her favourite snack, we decided to make our own.

Then after a few birthday & Christmas presents, a pickling book, a fermentation crock and a fair few mason jars, we started to venture out of our comfort zone and make our own Kimchi. Once we got the basics of lacto fermentation down, we tried our hand at crafting our own hot sauce!

Our first few attempts were not so palatable, but we persevered, We initially branded ourselves as Dan Clarke's Hot Sauce, where we set to work refining our recipe and dialing in the flavour profile and heat levels, Once our friends and family caught wind of what we were up to, jumping at the chance to volunteer to be our guinea pigs, and were constantly asking for more, we knew we were onto some special!

The Forgotten Batches
🌶🌶

From from these humble beginnings our journey began! This series of sauces were our first steps to becoming the Sauce Forge. The first first batches were sometimes more fruit than pepper, and were super small batches sometimes only 2 bottles, which we stored in flip top beer bottles 😅. Since we were still working just making some sauce for our own use we didn't write down any recipes! But it set the stage for our friends and family to catch wind of what we were doing.

Our first ever labelled product, born as a proof of concept, and forged from several iterations to get the flavour profile just right, fermented roasted Scotch Bonnets, and Red Dutch gave this sauce a smokey edge, combined with the fresh punch of lime, mango and white wine vinegar.

Our second labelled product, this time kicking things up a notch with the inclusion of dried Ghost Pepper, Cardamom and Orange, this iteration went down exceptionally well with our friends and family. Shame that this was such a small batch as everyone was clamouring for more!

Monkey's Paw Sucker Punch

Our third and final labelled test product, kicking up the batch size a notch, and refining the core of our signature recipe, this time going in a more fruity direction, adding pineapple to the fermentation and finishing the sauce off with limes and grapefruit for a fresh citrus punch after the initial heat dies down. This was the sauce that inspired us to go official

The Sauce Forge Range

After honing our signature recipe, and encouragement from our faithful taste testers, we decided to launch our own business. We are starting out small, over the coming months we have great aspirations to expand our range of evergreen sauces, as well as limited edition sauce drops.

In December expect to see an initial drop consisting of 4 sauces, from blazingly hot all the way to sweet and spicy, all crafted using this year's crop of our own homegrown chilli peppers.

We are proud to present our debut sauce under the "The Sauce Forge" brand; "The Original". Our signature sauce, honed and refined, our testers have sung its praises, hailing its versatility, going great as a dipping sauce, smothered over chicken wings, used a marinade, and adding it to all manner of dishes. Our signature recipe retains its fermented tang, punchy fruity zing, perfectly balanced heat. We are so excited to take this recipe to market

A limited edition sauce crafted using homegrown Armageddon and Lemon Drop peppers combined with mango and our signature base recipe. lacto-fermented in our home kitchen. Not for the faint of heart Those who can brave the heat will find this sauce layered with citrusy notes and a hearty punch of garlic.

A limited edition sauce crafted using a selection of our homegrown peppers, Chocolate Habanero, Orange Habanero, Cayenne and Ghost pepper along with Orange and Cardamom, with our signature base recipe, lacto-fermented in our home kitchen. The ultimate storm of flavours, this sauce rounds out rich earthy and floral heat with tropical undertones.

Honey Habanero

A limited edition sauce combing fermented honey garlic with peppers from our bumper crop of Orange Habanero peppers, to create a sweet floral pepper sauce, prepared in our home kitchen. For this sauce, we recommend to use it as a wing sauce, throw this into a pan with some butter and then smother onto crispy chicken wings!
